Question:

Does SAT combine scores from previous tests?

I've taken the SAT twice and I heard from someone that they take your best score from the math, reading, and writing section and use that. I did better in reading on my first test and I wanted to know if they'll use that reading score or the one from my second test.

I've looked online, but I can't find anything about it.

  1. SAT uses the highest score that you get from each section.

    Example:

                            Reading          Math          Writing

    Test 1                  560              290              610

    Test 2                  330              430               460

The highest score from each section is taken.

  2. highest score is taken from each section every time you take it.

  3. Technically most schools do in fact take your highest score from each individual section. Though they do have the ability to look at your other scores as well. So if you did significantly worse on certain subjects that would raise a flag on your application. Also if you take the SAT more then 3 times they don't usually take the highest score.
