I don't think fundamentalists think the world is flat.  But you are right about them believing it is 6000 yrs old and that Noah put two tyranasaurus rex's and a couple million other species on a boat he built in his back yard. She is also a member of the Assembly of God - which in most cases means they believe in speaking in tongues.  I know that she backed a move to teach Creationism and she is against abortion even in case of rape or incest.  It certainly is scary putting our country in the hands of people who are this demented.

Most republican politicians do not accept the validity of evolution and it is quite sad.  I really wouldn't be surprised if there are YEC among them.  Whether Palin believe that the Earth is only 6,000 years old, that dinosaurs roamed side-by-side with two people who lived over 900 years, whether see refutes transitional fossils, believes that vestigial organs are a part of "intelligent" design, or relies on the flawed arguments of irreducible complexity has yet to be revealed.

She knows the earth is an oblate spheroid, or a sphere at least, I guess, that's the problem, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

So potentially the, nominally, most powerful person on earth, is frighteningly stupid.

I didn't know she was a creationist, I'll just go and check,...just checked, oh no! it's true, and the worst sort, thinking that evolution can be taught beside creationism, as if it's a matter of choosing between them.
