Does Sarah Palin understand what a community organizer does?

Question

they help people who are down on their luck get housing, jobs, and support. They work hard to make the least fortunate's lives better. Is that really bad?

Why would she put down community organizers? Is she really that stupid?

They coordinate protests and riots I believe.  (EG:  Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton)

Does Obama or you understand what it is like to have people depend on you on a daily basis for their lively hood......NO.....Obama has never had anyone depend on him in the manner that Palin has had the people of Alaska depend on her.

I organized parents for school projects, so I guess just because I organized these parents then I am just as qualified as Obama.

You have to be an alien. A community organizer in Chicago helps people to register to vote and makes sure they get to the correct polling place and THAT THEY VOTE FOR THE RIGHT PERSON

I thought the same thing. A community Organizer does a h**l of a lot more then a small town mayor. And for Guiliani and their supporters to make a mockery of that showed me how ignorant the people at the RNC are.

She in no way put down community organizers.  It just doesn't qualify you to be president.

No she doesn't understand what it is and neither does anyone else including you. What you are describing is called a social worker in most places. That's what you should understand, social worker, socialism.

You don't need one of the most expensive educations paid for mostly with tax dollars to do that. That really shows how bad obamas judgment is.

The last time I checked, the guy that sets up bingo and shuffleboard, etc at an old folks community is called the community organizer.

Yea i would have to disagree with that comment she said.  I guess they put it in her speech as an attempt to attack Obama but it certainly missed the mark.  I think it was wrong to make it a cut on all commuinity organizers.  They do much more than she mentioned and that was not really proper nor the action you would expect from someone just trying to introduce herself to the country for like the first time.  But it was not written by her which we all are very aware of.  I just hope she realizes that the more she continues allowing them to feed into her persona, the more she will lose in the end.  And after this election she will be forgotten about most likely until years later.  I think we wanted to see who she was last night and instead got republican banter that is common in the party but not common from someone who calls herself a "reformer" and a hockey mom.

Oh, they are social workers?

Palin didn't start this discussion.  She just ended it.  She wasn't putting down community organizers.  She was responding to critics who have been saying Obama is more qualified and that she is 'just a small town mayor'.

Mayors are Executives.  Community organizers are not.  The President of the United States is the top elected Executive in the country.

Community organizers are helpful.  But they are charitable entities and should stay out of the government.
