Does Schnoodle Nudel mean anything in German?

  1. Schnoodle doesn't mean anything but Nudel means noodle.

    It sounds like a pet name or something to me...


  2. Oh yes it means something ...

    It's an invented word, but at the same time you can see that it was invented by a German. It's something nice to say to somebody you like/love but behaves a bit addlepated =)

    Or just a cute way to say to someone.

    However, "die Nudel" (plural: "die Nudeln") means "noodle".

    Yes, and 'Schnucki' is much more cute than "schnoodel" ;-)

    In Swiss German there's also "Schneugeli", but it may sound strange

    to your English ears.

  3. That's quite similar to the way my German-speaking girlfriend addresses me as "Schnucki" :) The combination /schn/ and the rhyming alliteration convey the idea of endearment.
