  1. Why doesn't he call for the closing of GITMO? He didn't learn anything in the Hanoi Hilton. Will he denounce torture.


  2. No. He was using the offer out of the proper context of war (wherein he would have surely been disallowed to return, even after doing whatever they wanted) to score political points — he is a "war hero" after all.

  4. Actually they were.  A few POW's actually took the offer.  In one case a prisoner was allowed by his fellow POW's to take early release, so that he could give out the names of POW's that were listed as MIA's

    I respect McCains ordeal.. but I don't respect his politics.
