Or it's just a market strategy. Does Hitachi or LG or Samsung have better quality refrigerators than Sharp?

  1. I purchased a new fridge agout 5 years ago. Every six  months to a year the inner liner would crack. We replaced our fridge at least 4 times. We also tried different brands.

The LG is the one we have today and it has past the test. It is the only one that the inner liner did not crack. I would buy the LG again the others where not the quality I would expect from the high end fridges.

  2. I would definitely pick a samsung refrigerator over a sharp.  Better yet, try electrolux brand.  Pricey, but well worth it, and the service plan would eliminate your having to buy a new appliance all the time.

  3. Big names in appliances won't sacrifice quality for price. It's their technology advancement and secret that will tell their price. Of course, the market has a say to it.

  4. Samsung has the highest quality rating of all refrigerators this year according to JD powers.  I bought a fridge a few months ago and looked at hundreds.  I liked the Samsung best because of the quality and the features, they really had all the features I want in one fridge, noone else came close.  If I had more money I would have gone with a built in Subzero, but that would have been thousands more.

If you like some of the gimmicky features like a built in TV, you'll have to look at LG.  The quality seemed pretty good on those, but it appered to be different manufacturers with an LG label slapped on them.

Hitachi had a slim one I really liked for a small kitchen.  I have some very small studio apartments in the city I rent out and these refrigerators may be going in there soon.

So Samsung is the best this year AND they have a great price at costco(unfortunately, I paid more at lowes), but in reality, just find the one you like the best and buy it, get an extended warranty if you are  worried about quality.
