If you're really good at chess and or sudoku, would that mean you require a high IQ to be good at it. I think sudoku doesn't measure intelligence what do you think??

  1. Chess requires strategy, focus, and thinking ahead. These skills can only be fostered with practice and anyone can learn, but a higher level of intelligence will inevitably help you succeed faster.

Contrary to popular belief, Sudoku is not a game of numbers. It is a game of logic. That being said, a higher intelligence level will be able to function better in the puzzle, but is not necessary. Anybody can practice enough to increase their gaming ability. Even people with high intelligence can increase their skill by practice. At first, Sudoku took me about 10 minutes to complete an easy one. Now I can knock them out in three.

  2. I think that if you are a master at games such as those you probably have a high IQ. dumb people with low IQs won't be able to master those games. On the other hand, there are people who are only good at those games and if you asked them a question concerning IQ they wouldn't be able to answer it.

But life is life and this is how it is when it comes to sudoku and chess.

  3. it depends, if you do it perfectly the first time you try it then you will have a high IQ. but generally practice make perfect. i remember when i first tried sudoku, it took me 4 hours to complete. now i can do it in 170 mins.

  4. Neither Soduko nor Chess test and require high IQ to be good.

A person can have better results than another person of higher IQ.

The converse is more interesting. That is:

the brain is an example of "if you don't use it, you lose it,"

Soduko or Chess are examples of how to exercise the brain,

most notably to improve your IQ and to keep Alzheimer's Disease at bay.

  5. I think playing sudoku doesn't to have high I.Q.s...it's very annoying for persons to play with games that will only need geeks and geniuses...in my part, i was just attracted with the  number arrangements ('cause i love numbers..i love math...)and i was interested to test if i can answer with my own skills and prospects..after a hard time arranging the numbers in 9x9x9 grid...you'll realize you have a great logic and techniques...

ABOUT CHESS..according to my friend, you just have to know the play, the names and positions of the every little thing in the game...THEN there you go!!!you need experience and logical thinking in playing both mind-boggling games,i JUST LOVE BOTH THIS GAMES...(actually i have my own collection of chess boards, sudoku placemats,etc....)

  6. Soduko, chess or any other game requires intelligence to play. Dumbos cannot play any game.
