  1. pheasant

  2. I think Stilton does eventually go off....the only other thing which might improve with age is Whisky, wine, Port etc...

  3. A whole cheese - rind intact should last for ages.   A wedge from a supermarket will last long after the date upon it -but - if you open it, leave it exposed to the air.  It will dry up, and you can use it for cooking.

If you leave it enclosed by polythene or cling film it will eventually start to grow colonies of bacteria (usually pink).

At this stage it is advisable to relegate it to the compost heap or give it to the birds in your back yard or garden.

A good quality air dried ham is usually good , - I have some hung in the utility room well dried out that is at least 18months old. I chisel bits off to put in various dishes - risotto - the odd Pasta sauce etc. goes with Parmesan particularly well

  4. Serrano jamon - Spanish cured ham

  5. It definitely goes off! The problem is that other moulds and bacteria can take a hold (not just the desired ones) once it is cut open!

Honey keeps forever! (though it can crystalize if it is exposed to moisture in the air)

  6. In the right conditions you can keep it a very long time, but why would you want to?

    Brie.

Sauerkraut!  Various homemade soups and stocks benefit from being made the day before.
