Question:

Does TMZ suck or is it 'educational?'?

I have been watching TMZ a few times because really there isn't anything on during the time this show comes on, but what I noticed about this show is the members showing random and incoherent clips about celebrities doing, well nothing.

So, is this show basically lazy and trying to encourage others to worship celebrities or what?

The second question is why are people now and days worshipping celebrities. I can understand teens doing it, but why adults?

Has this been starting since the 70's, 80's, 90's, or when?

  1. It's not educational. Most of the time they're slamming people just to do it and think they're funny. It seems to me it's encouraging people to bash celebrities. I do think there is a difference between mindless adoration for people just because they're famous and being a genuine fan who appreciates someone's work and what it does for them. Nothing's wrong with that. To answser your last question, I don't know how long it's been going on, probably ever since silent movies (just my guess), but  it's because of the appearance of it, luxury, adoration, money, fame, etc.

    wrongwaycote said it better.

  2. It is not educational. Learning about celebrities doesn't improve your life. It is just entertainment for the people who have interest in others.

  3. 1. a show that gives pointless gossip about people you dont know personally is lazy and encourages a meaningless obession with celebrities

    and for your second question:

because they want to obsess about other people' problems and the media makes them seem more troublesome to make regular people feel like they have less problems. basically it helps weak people cope with their so-called "bad life"
