Does Teeth Whitening hurt?

My mum is going to the dentist surgery tomorrow, to have her teeth whitened, and she is very concerned that it might hurt.

I was just wondering if anybody had tried it before, and if it was painful???

Thanks

  1. Not at all. She'll be real happy with the result.

  2. If your teeth is sensitive its quite painful . My dentist didn't recommend it

  3. The actual process isn't painful at all, she might have some tooth sensitivity afterwards though but it will go away in a few days, sensodyne toothpaste helps.

  4. she will be fine.don't worry

  5. I'm sure that if it is done by a professional it wouldn't hurt.

I know that home kits really, really hurt.

But dentists know exactly what they're doing, so I wouldn't worry x

  6. I haven't had my teeth whitened at the dentist but have used a home kit and all I can say is that if she suffers with sensitive teeth then it may exacerbate this. It doesn't hurt but may feel uncomfortable for a little while. But usually there are no problems so I'm sure she will be fine.

  7. My dentist told me that it does weaken the strength of the your teeth.
