Does The Ps3 Play Backed Up/Burned Ps1 Games?

Btw Im Not Sure If The Disk Is Burnt Or Not. I Bought It In Wales And It Didnt Work On My Original Ps1 But My Chipped Ps1. The Disks Have The Games Respective Image On Them Too. It Doesn't Look Chipped But It Is. The Format Is Ntsc. Is It Region Locked Or What?

PS3 is well protected against running illegal copies.

The Playstation 3 will not play old Playstation games that are illegally burned onto disc if not properly flashed/'chipped' (as i known it on the PS1). Try buying your favourite Playstation games on ebay, they will go cheap and im sure you can spare a little money for a playstation game or two.
