I'm sure they know, if we know, than surely the people who are holding the medals. Besides a gold medal is just a material posses ion and in the end its not really whether if its real solid pure gold that counts but what it stands for. I think when they look back on that moment when they are 80 and weak (hard to imagine), they won't think, 'pah, stupid Chinese, they're too cheap to give us real gold', but instead they will remember what a good time they had and that on top of the world feeling.

It's not about the gold, it's about their accomplishments that had put up through the whole olympics. Gold medal just represents them that they won, but the most important thing is that they owned the olympics adn that's what it's all about
