Does Tiger Woods have Competition with anyone in Golf?

the guy is like the Michael Jordan of Basketball in Golf. Golf isn't really too exciting in my opinion when you already know who is going to win 80% of the time. Its like watching a basketball game when you already know the score is going to be 100-98 this team.

Well, most of the tournie's go a little something like this:

Tiger falls behind and get frustrated. Other golfer's in the lead realize they aren't Tiger and start playing bad. Tiger realizes he's Tiger and wins.

End of match.

maybe you are correct but what's fun about Tiger is he doesn't hit all good all day but manages to get something going.  I agree with one poster, Phil, Vijay, Adam, and other guys can give him quite a fight.  That is if they bring their A game with them

he does have competition. there's a handful of guys who can play with him but it takes a bad day from tiger to beat him. phil, jim, vijay and there are others who can hang with him but beating him is another issue. people say, it's better to be lucky than good. well, it takes a lot of luck in combination with tiger's bad luck to beat him.

i guess if tiger plays well there is no one.

Uhh...You're way off here.  First, he only wins about 26 percent of the events he plays in.  He is clearly the best player in the world and will eventually go down as the best ever.  But someone manages to beat him three quarters of the time. The level of talent in golf right now is very deep.

i wouldnt be willing to say that this guy is better, but nick o'hern seems to have his number in the match play format.  i believe he has beaten him twice in the last three years.  don't know why that would be as i dont see anything overly impressive about his game, but something obviously gets to tiger when they matchup.

No I do not think that Tiger Woods has any competition. That is just my opinion. Some people like Mickelson or Garcia or someone like that and they will say yes he has competition. I think that this is going to be his year. Did you see him in the Buick Invitational? He won by about 7 or 8 strokes. He smoked the other guys. The thing is though because he is so good that is what makes it fun to watch. See how he swings, see how far he hits it, and see his amazing chips and putts. That is why I think that Tiger does not have any competition.

I am not sure how it cannot be considered exciting after watching the match with JB Holmes yesterday.  I had hoped that Tiger would win, but knowing match play and Tiger's record, I know anything could happen.  To come from 3 back with 5 to play and WIN!, how is that not exciting.  I mean that just doesn't happen often.  When you look at the shots he had to make to get the win, not very many people would have pulled off each of those with that pressure on them.  Being an avid golfer, I can help but get excited watching Tiger or any of the other guys.  Their skills are extraordinary.
