Or do Petty Enterprises, Rudd Performance Motorsports, Bill Elliott's independent team, and Robby Gordon Motorsports strike fear into the hearts of other teams?

  1. One thing Tony may have going for him is sponsors. Looks as if he already has a couple of high power sponors ready to go with him in Office Depot and Bass Pro.

That makes me wonder where Home Depot stands with Tony. Seems like he's been a great marketing tool for their company, makes me think they may go with him as well.

  2. Do what Dale Sr. did own a team but drive for another.

  3. I'm sure he does. Maybe he wants to show everyone else how to do it right.

  4. are you assuming that Tony isn't aware of the sport he has been a part of for 10 years?? (meaning NASCAR-not all the other racing he's been a part of)

  5. I'm sure he does, but like everyone of them he will assume he'll be the exception.

  6. don't forget dw racing. i can't think of anyone except alan kulwicki in recent history that has been able to wear both hats with great success. i hope tony takes a good hard look at the situation.

  7. im sure tony will  take all that into account in his choices

  8. I think you can put him in a category all his own because he has the added comfort of being a top name in Nascar and he will have tons of contracts thrown at him if this owner/driver thing doesn't work out.
