    But if more overweight people start appearing over time, they might start doing that in order to save up on fuel costs.

  3. No, none of the airlines are doing that, yet..... What some of them may do is if a person is too large to fit in the seat that they have purchased, with the arm rest down, they may make that person purchase two tickets.

  4. No airline that I know charges by weight though I think one airline (Southwest) wanted to.  There was a huge backlash and they ended up not doing that.

  5. NO it's per seat but if you might need the seat next to you then you would pay for the extra seat if it is available or wait for the next flight.  But you got to be really BIG to do that.  And I've seen some big people squeeze into 1 seat.
