Mail is being processed in many places 24/7/365. On a Federal Holiday, there is no mail delivery, except for Express Mail, and no retail window services in most all locations.

Put it this way. I am the #24 clerk in my PO. We were told to pick one day of this 3 day weekend to work. I worked Saturday. For the past couple of years my workweek has been 6 days. Except for the weekend before or after a scheduled vacation.

The Mail has to keep moving.
