I know they were talking about charging for their first bag. Did they really implement that?

  1. On domestic flights yes.  International flights are still free.

  2. Yes but it also depends on when you bought your ticket cant remember the dates off hand but if you bought the ticket b4 a certain date there is no charge for the first bag and if its after that date there will be if you just call the reservations phone number they can tell you when you bought your ticket and if that first bag fee  would apply to you.... wish i could remember the dates,

  3. Yes, on domestic flights.  Check united.com for specific details.

  4. Starting aug 18 we will start chargin $15 for the first bag just like american and us airways already did. second bag is $25 and third bag is $100

  5. It Depends, most Airlines will now add traveling fees to bags that weigh over 45 pounds. As the bag gets heavier, the airlines will charge more. The airline that i last flew with this rule was American and Continental but i would imagine that United would go by the same rules since all check in desks where you weigh your bags at the front look the same and they have signs that show the fees and non are individual for Airlines.
