  1. Yep, most places on the east coast have simple waves. They aren't always large enough though.

    eg) Myrtle Beach, Outer Bands...

  2. THESE PEOPLE DONT KNOW WHAT THERE TALKIN BOUT...I LIVE IN VIRGINIA BEACH AND IT HAS PRETTY DECENT WAVES

  3. nope. go to santa cruz, california

  4. Virginia Beach is a typical east coast break. It is pretty tame most of the summer, but for a beginner, I am sure there are lots more ride-able days than there are flat days. When a big off-shore low comes in, it can downright big (although sometimes it goes all "Victory at Sea" on you). I haven't surfed there in the summer for a LONG time, so i don't know what the local vibe is like. Since its a popular tourist town, I'm sure there are more than enough kooks in the water. If you are a beginner, get your ocean skills down first, and then learn surf etiquette. The old heads in the water will appreciate you staying out of their way, and not want to drown you. Go for it. have fun, go surfing!

  5. I live in vb during summer most likely surf is minimal about knee high waves unless some kinda storm or anything forms which we all wish and hope for, but i suggest staying away from 1st street or croatan during summer because its so crowded its hard to learn when everyone and their mom is catching the same wave. so I suggest going to the north end which is basically where the hotels end and the houses begin less tourist are here. Vb vibe is insane there are some form of localism specially at 1st street from obnoxious kids to old long boarders who wont let up and share waves its a joke trying to catch a wave thats all yours at 1st.

Even though you probably heard by now "Virginia Has No Waves" well thats not fully accurate just a couple days ago we had some pretty fun head high waves even though we had a crappy winter season its been pretty fun lately dont know how long it will last, but theres plenty more days of small beginner waves. theres plenty of surf school here if you need it from hotline, wrv to titus and if you need some gear there is 17th street, WRV, corner 24, hotline, and coastal edge at the strip

  6. yea their pretty small for a beginner, i suggest you go thier and chill on the waves bro.

  7. i live in vb and have grown up in a big surf culture town. i learned to surf in vb. they also have camps and stuff here for surfing. most days the waves are pretty good for beginners but there are a lot of tourists in summer, dont go to the resort area. wetsuits are still needed this time of year but it will be better by the end of may. hatteras has good waves also.
