  1. Wacom says it works well with all three.  Personally, I've used my wacom tablet in Photoshop, and it works great for things like sketches, but things are hard to color with it, and it's hard to get clean, smooth lines.  Now, if it's clean, smooth lines you want, you should probably go with something vector-based like Illustrator, but if you're into more painting than drawing, I've heard from digital art books and online articles that Corel Painter's the best for making illustrations/paintings/etc. because of its wide range of simulated art media.  So, it kinda depends on what your style is.

  2. First understand that a digital pen and tablet are not much more than another kind of mouse.  So, any application that uses a mouse driven cursor will work with your Wacom.  Consider that most operations are basically click and drag operations.

Secondly, the tablet and pen have the addtional feature of pressure sensitivity, which, in applications like Corel Painter, Photoshop, Illustrator and other graphics programs, can simulate thick and thin lines, dark or light, wet or dry and so on.

So it's not a matter of the pen working "better" on one application or another.  The question is only if the pen is compatible.  And, in the above mentioned apps, and many more, it is.

  3. Corel is a more intuitive paint program but like it says you can use them all
