    You can look at the annual statement of either company.

    Lowes major stockholder is the Lowes Familty Trust.

    Wal-Mart major stock holder is the Walton Family trust

    Both are public corporation and all maor stockholders are listed.

  3. NO. I just flipped through their official filings with the SEC (10-K in the link below). The word Walmart does not appear at all in it. The biographies of the board of directors does not mention any person who is linked to Walmart. You can be sure that if somebody has a substantial portion of a company then they or a friend will be a director. If they owned 51% it is a certainty they would surely be there so that is a good indicator of NO connection.
