Does Wal-Mart pay the employees & family members appearing in their flyers?

Question

Wal-Mart uses employees and family members of employees in their flyers - do they get paid? Has anybody appeared in a Wal-Mart flyer and can tell whether or not they got paid - or do you just do it for the chance to be in a national flyer?

Note: This may only apply to Wal-Mart Canada flyers. Not sure if family members/employees also appear in US Wal-Mart flyers.

they stopped using associates in their ads a couple years ago.  If you look at the flyers, it no longer says something like "Nancy, sales associate" next to each photo

yes the last time i was in and add they gave me a blue cake and a free oil change.
