Yes. Water floats on anything that is more dense than water. Rock for example.

Fresh water will float on fresh water, if they're at different temperatures..

Widget Maker is right, water will float on anything that is denser than itself. Fresh water will float on top of salty water, hot water will float on top of cold water, and ice (which is frozen water) will float on top of non-frozen water.
