Does Wells Fargo allow Direct Deposit Advance on teen checking accounts?

I didn't set it up at first because the banker discouraged it but because I'm in a bit of a pinch with gas and all I need to get it set up. Can I do that alone or can my parents do it with me?

  1. Being a teen has no impact on direct deposit.  I am shocked that the banker discouraged direct deposit, direct deposit is the safest way to receive your salary.  You should be able to do it alone with your employer.  Go to HR and ask for a direct deposit form.  Make sure that you have your full account number as well as the routing number for your bank branch.  If you have a checking account, just bring one of your pre-printed deposit slips with you.  Your employer will be happy because it costs them less to do direct deposit than to make a paper check.

  2. Yes you can open a checking account at ANY bank as long as the PERSON opening the account approves it. THEY love it when u do direct deposit !!!

  3. What do you mean direct deposit "advance".  You can only use money that is already in the account.  Make sure that deposits have cleared and that you account for any checks you write that have not cleared yet.  If you try to spend more than you have in your account, you will get hit with stiff overdraft fees.

Direct deposit from a job does clear more quickly (usually overnight) than depositing a check.

  4. Yes, I believe you have to be at least 16, though it may be 17... you also have to of been with wells fargo for a year, though it depends on your individual branch.

Set up online banking if you haven't already

    http://www.wellsfargo.com

after that's done click on the link to the left of your home page that says "more options" and you'll see direct deposit advance, click on that and then it will give you instructions on setting up direct deposit advance.

    Hope this helps.
