Alright, I have Windows XP but I can't find the bluetooth.

I was told that I had to configure it, but I can't even find it to do that in the first place.

Little help here?

  1. It will be in your networking devices, by wireless card, ethernet, etc.

You need to buy a bluetooth adapter, or if you already have one you need a driver for it. Windows XP support bluetooth, but you need an adapter to use it.

  2. Windows XP SUPPORTS bluetooth, and a lot of the newer LAPTOPS has it built in,  you would see that logo somewhere on your casing if your hardware has it built in.  I haven't seen any desktop with that built in yet, as indicate by other users that you can always buy a bluetooth dongle that plugs into the usb port.

  3. you have to have a device first. XP supports bluetooth but it is just software without the hardware it can't work. either you need a motherboard with bluetooth built in or an adapter. If you do have it you should find it in your network connections area

  4. XP can support a built-in or USB dongle Bluetooth adapter, but whether you have one present is another matter, it's optional hardware and by no means a built-in for XP, which would require additional driver software to run any Bluetooth device.  With a desktop PC Bluetooth would almost certainly come via a plug-in USB adapter and this will have driver software supplied (and be easy to spot!).

If this is a laptop with Bluetooth, and it is not an obvious plug-in adapter, then you will need to enable the built-in device.  How this is done will depend on the make and models.  There may be an obvious system tray based connection manager for Bluetooth and Wireless, there may be a button you can press on the laptop case, there may be any manner of variations of these or perhaps you have to dig inside Network settings in Control Panel.
