  1. You know I kind of have to go with people who think there is too much coverage.  Good grief, it's like Super Bowl hype every week.  There is only so much to talk about.  You have   Cup Practice, Final Practice, Qualifying,  Nationwide qualifying, Truck Qualifying,   NASCAR Raceday,  NASCAR Countdown.. It's over the top.

You're tired of it before the race even starts......

  2. The degeneration of NASCAR started a few years ago. It started with sponsor domination that resulted with the restrictor plate. Then NASCAR contributed some hokiness that resulted with the "lucky dog". Then came "The Chase". Then came the COT. (I thought IROC died.)  And now we have a tire manufacturer that's been in business since 1898 and they lost the recipe for a race tire? NASCAR can die a sorry death as far I'm concerned. Let the France family go find honest work.

  3. Well... not necessarily. NASCAR brought the COT to Indianapolis, and the track was diamond ground a few years back (just like the Charlotte debacle in '05) and obviously, helps he tires grip the track but is real, real tough on the tires. The COT puts a heavier load on the tires, basically because, It's a bigger car, so the tires wear out quicker. When they had the tire test  a while back, I have no idea why they didn't talk about it then. They might have been able to save the race.

  4. The sport has been in that spiral since it went to prime time.  The 6 hour events on TV just bore people to death.  Rusty was a good driver, but god I want to shoot myself in the head every time I hear his voice.

Nascar abandoned it's roots along time ago.  The people who came aboard to make it soo big have now gotten board with it and are looking for another fix.

Any personality the sport had they completely squashed.  They even seemed to tame Tony, huge mistake.  It is a sport that has no identity now, it is lost.  They got greedy and are now loosing it fast.

I give it 5 years and it will be off prime time.

  5. I agree with you , what a farce .  I also don't like the amount of Saturday night races either , I used to enjoy relaxing on a Sunday afternoon and taking in the race.

  6. No, it doesn't prove anything.  Old races were better?  Maybe, but they weren't under the same rules and guidelines with this new equipment and repaved tracks.  It was what it was.  Now it is time for NASCAR and Goodyear to learn from the mistakes made her and move on. Why dwell on what you cannot change.  Every race cannot be as good as the last.

  7. I thought yesterdays race was a debacle.  The fans should get a refund.  I would love to hear from someone who attended the "race."

I don't think Indy is too big for NASCAR.  There have been some awsome races there in the past.  And a race track is a race track no matter what you put on it.  That is the entire challenge but I think the problem is with the COT.  Bristol isn't Bristol, Talledaga isn't Talledaga and now this Indy mess.  Get rid of this stupid COT or at least make it  better.  Even the drivers complain about it.

Surely ratings are down when you have the same guy winning every other race and then Indy is a "heat" race.  The state of NASCAR is probably ok but I sure wish they would do something soon.

  8. It was a horrible race and it was rigged. The only reason they

had so many cautions because of tire wear was so that the

top 12 would not blow tires and end up falling outside of the top 12. It all has to do with money and pleasing the sponsors.

If it was a real race where they didn't worry about sponsors

and money, then they would have let them race and blow

tires and not worry if their precious Dale Jr fell out of the top

    12. They would have let the dominoes fall as they fell and let

the true winner win even if it meant a field filler win like JJ Yeley or Dave Blaney etc.

  9. NASCAR must decide if they want to race stock cars (they actualy did once) or become IROC or Indy type circuit. People keep blaming the ecomomy -gas prices-on non sellouts but anyone see any smaller lines at McDonlds drive through's or other drive through. Bottom line shows like sunday are BAD  and people will not continue to pay for poor racing.   Racing used to be much better  PERIOD

  10. As far as I'm concerned Nascar started down hill when they went Hollywood.I quit watching it a long time ago.

  11. There was actually some good racing action going on when they weren't under a competition caution or cleaning up the track.  They need to do a full field tire test there and figure out the right side tires that are needed to put on a good show for the fans.
