Does Yorkies bark a lot?

I want to get a small dog, like a yorkie, but I don't want to get a dog that barks a lot.

Heaps, they bark at the littlest things. Griffons are really cute dogs about the size of a Yorkie that don't bark much

i have two yorkies

the female barks like crazy

the male hardly barks

--> but you should get a dog based on your lifestyle and not because its cute or small

depends on the personality of the pup. but yes yorkies are terriers which is a breed knows for guarding and barking. i have a yorkie and she usually only barks when strangers or company comes over. the barking isnt as overly accessive as some other small breeds.

Not really. If you spoil them and stuff they might if you try to change your routine. If you pet it for a while and stop then it will bark for you to pet it again. Hope this helps I am a dog lover and a dog expert

OMG yes! I have a yorkie, and he'll bark over every little thing. They're fussy like that. But I love him so it doesn't matter to me.:)

Hey I have a yorkie, he is black and tan, a robust sturdy dog, not your  inbred little teacup or tiny, he stands 8 inches and is about 18-20inches long. He is the most quiet dog I know, of course most are yappers, but my boy isn't. He is affectionate, loyal, protective and I love him dearly.

If you want a Yorkshire Terrier don't buy a Teacup one they have lots of health problems.

Have a good look round before you buy.

Fran Bible (City Opera mezzo-soprano) had two Yorkies and a Great Dane when I knew her, and the Dane was terrified of the little furballs.

For a small dog that's cute but not so loud, try a Boston Terrier.  It may or may not bark a lot, but its voice is MUCH quieter and mostly it makes cute little gruntles and snorts, and they're quite even-tempered.

Well mine barks when she see's dogs but not when she goes to the dog park with my other dog she wont bark at them.And she never barks at people.So I dont think they bark a lot...Good luck!=)
