Ive Been Taking Depo Provera for only 3 months, my doctor said that i can gain 30 -50 lbs on it and didn't recommend it, but i told her that my mother has been taking it on and off for 4 years and she actually lost weight. my doctor just shrugged and let me have it. I haven't gained any weight but again, ive only had one dose, i was just wondering if it could be because my mom never gained weight on it, or am i just luck or its too early to tell

  1. Whether your mom gained weight on it or not has nothing to do with if you will or not.  Their are other reasons doctors don't like Depo, including heavy mood swings, depression, ect.  Depo is a VERY high dose of hormones and can affect you in many ways.  Much better alternatives out there.

  2. yes it does - what my mom could take i could take etc - you both have similiar systems - thats isnt to say anything for sure - but yes you have a good possiblity
