Does Zoloft show up in blood work?

If someone takes Zoloft (100mg) for three months and then decides to participate in a 'depression' study and they asked if you were taking any meds and you say no, would that show up in your bloodwork?

  1. yes. and if in a study, they will probably be looking for it.


  2. I'd imagine it would show up, because that's how it starts working by building up in your system.

  3. I have friends who work at a major Depression Research center and they do not screen for antidepressant levels. There are a lot of antidepressants and its not cost effective to screen for all of them. Plus its unethical to test people for things without their knowledge to see if they are lying.

    You probably don't have to lie about it, previous antidepressant use is usually not a contraindication to a research trial
