  1. Chevrolet uses torsion bar suspension presents only its four-wheel-drive trucks and a torsion bar resists twist. You can adjust torsion bars to slightly rise or lower the vehicle by way of an adjuster mounted on the cross member. For the adjustment of torsion bars, you can fallow mentioned instructions:

    • Park your Chevy on a level, paved surface and set the parking brake.

    • Raise the front of the Chevy with a jack and support with jack stands.

    • Move underneath the Chevy and locate the point where the torsion bar enters the cross member. This would be roughly underneath the passenger compartment.

    • Find the torsion bar adjusting nut, located in a notch in the cross member. There is one for each torsion bar. Use a ratchet socket to turn the adjusting nut in to raise the Chevy and out to lower it. Be careful to count the number of turns you make, and turn the other adjuster the same number of turns.
