Hi

I am connecting my TV audio output to stereo speakers which is 10 meters away.

And I am using a 10 m stereo cable for connecting them.

- Will the quality of signal be lost due to the long distance

- Do I need to amplify before I send the signal considering the distance

  1. No Amp, like the other guy said... use a good set of shielded heavy duty cables and you will be good to go!

  2. Amp not needed, but noise could be a problem. Be sure to use shielded cable, like coaxial cable.

  3. It depends on what the "TV output" is.  If it's one or two RCA jacks or similar low level output  ... you need an amplifier.  If it's high level output (speaker terminals) you can connect speakers directly (two stereo wires ... one to each speaker) and 10m is not an issue (assuming the wire you use is bigger than about 26 awg).  If it's a headphone kack the sound will be marginal at best since the impedence will be wrong for speakers and the amount of power at a headphone jack is quite low.

Since you refer to a 10m "stereo cable" I suspect you are doing the first option above ... and it won't work.
