Does a 110/220 curling iron work in Japan?

Going to Japan, and Eastern Europe and want to bring my curling iron which supports 110/220V. Will it work without a converter in Eastern European countries and Japan?

  1. if it is a dual voltage, says 110/220 on it,  it should work without a converter.  You'll need an adapter for the plug.


  2. Japan uses 110 V AC. However, this 110 is NOT the same as the US 110 V. In fact, it is actually 106 ~ 108. The US runs between 110 and 116. Therefore, even though you can indeed use your curling iron without an adapter, it will run much slower than you're used to in the States or Canada.

    To make it run better, you will need a converter.

  3. yes anything that is 220 will work their. you just need the plug adaptor

  4. If it is rated for 220 volts, then you don't need a voltage converter at all. All you need is a plug adapter. They're like 10 bucks at any Radio Shack. Same for your cell phone. And your lap top.
