Does a 14 ft aluminum fishing boat with a trolling motor count as a vessel, do i need to register it?

it has a flat bottom, very light, i think a trolling motor would do fine, i dont know if i need to register it, i dont have a tittle or registration for it

  1. In Florida yes, you do have to register.


  2. You have to have a title for any boat power or not >It has to have state #

  3. better be safe and find out.  ask the local "powers-that-be".

  4. I can tell you what the laws would be where I live but that wouldnt help you.

    Check with your department of motor vehicles or fish and wildlife people, they will know.

  5. I believe under 16' does not need a title &may not need a reg. because of elect. motor. but not sure, in mass.

  6. In California the answer would be yes.

    Anything with a motor of any kind, and anything that is hauled on a trailer.

  7. different states have different laws. Normally, anything under 12 ft no, UNLESS you put a motor on it. Any motorized boat must be regestered. But, in some states, an electric trolling motor does not count, in some states it does. Contact the local coast guard auxillary or DMV to find out in your location.
