  1. most new shower heads use 2.5 gallons per minute @ 80 psi.2.5 X 15=37.5 gallons of water. To figure amount of water in tub, width X lenght X height = cubic ft X 7.5 gallons. example; 5 ft X 3 ft X .6 = 9 cu, ft. 9 X 7.5= 67.5 gallons. this is not exact  because max lenth of tub is 5 ft and tub is smaller at bottom and gets bigger as it goes up, but measure at midways up on water level on width and lenth

  2. A bath because you have to fill up the tub. If you use a low flow showerhead your shower could use a gallon or two of water.

  3. showers use more water. baths use less, because you can control the amount of water used.

  4. It depends on the speed of the water that comes out.  But overall, a shower takes less water than a bath.  I take a 15 minute shower and I put the plug in so my feet can soak in the water, and at the end of the shower I only have a few inches of water in the tub.  If I take a bath its usually atleast half full.  So my answer is that a bath takes more water.

  5. here is how to find out.the next time you take a shower just put a stopper in/on the tub drain and shower as usual. then you can visibly see the amount of water that was used.
