Does a 1976 evinrude 25HP boat motor charge the battery while its running?

if it it has battery hook ups it should

it has an unregulated 4-amp (might be a 6-amp) alternator consisting of flywheel magnets, 12 coils on the stator and a rectifier.

If this is an electric start motor it should have an alternator but it only puts out 2-3 amps at normal operating rpm's, barely enough to trickle charge the battery, so if you are running a radio, /DF etc you'll need to put the battery on a charger.
