Does a 2000 Olds Alero's 3400 engine interchange for a 1998 Pontiac Trans Sport's 3.4L engine?

I have a van with a bad motor and I am wondering if this other engine I've found will fit. Also would like to know same info about the transmission for same vehicles. Thanks.

Well I did some checking and it appears the Alero engine will fit nicely into the Trans Sport. Or vice versa. The only difference I could see was in the camshaft. Not that really matters with fit. But you might notice a performance change.

I think you are out of luck with the transmission. Especially since the one in the Trans Sport is a 4T60E and the Alero uses a 4T45E. The 2 can not interchange.
