Question:

Does a 2001 pontiac sunfire have a way to check trans fluid?

We are afraid she is having transmission trouble and would like to check if the fluid is low. It doesn't appear to have a dipstick thing to check it and many people have been telling me it doesn't. It's an automatic transmission so we are lost.

  1. There is a plug under the car to check the fluid. its located on the right side of the trans just left of the exhaust pipe. take out the plug and fluid should run out if its full and if nothing comes out then its low. i have a 2002 sunfire with an automatic and thats how you check it. hope i helped.

  2. I don't know much about sunfires except its a inline 4, best is look at the car manual it should tell where to check for the engine oil, and the transmission stuff.

  3. there is no dipstick, only a red fill cap. check your owners manual or contact your local gm dealer.

you can even ask chevy cavalier owner as they shared the same platform.

    Good luck!
