Does a 2005 impala need an installation kit for a double din??

Question

Im trying to buy an aftermarket Double din cd player. The impala factory radio is a double din. So would that mean i dont even need an installation kit??

it depends on the size double din u have.  i have the 07 monte carlo ss and i got a pioneer double din touchscreen and i still needed kit.

If you mean din and a half, you shouldn't need one. GM uses 1.5 din in all of their vehicles. You will however need to remove the brackets from the stock unit and bolt them to the new unit.
