Does a BMW 325xi or Volvo S40 NEED premium gas or is regular ok?

Question

If you have one of these do you use regular and does it act up if you do?

I'm car searching and want to stick with regular gas.

Also, what kind of mileage do you get?

I don't know about the Volvo, but the BMW does need premium. It will perform considerably better on the good stuff. By the way, in testing 3 different BMW's with regular and premium fuels, all three good significantly better gas mileage with the premium and made the true cost per mile cheaper to buy premium.

You don't need premium.  But what they don't include is that TURBO engines require premium (no questions).

Both need premium gas.

All luxury cars and sportscars with powerful or turbocharged engines require it.
