Does a DVD recordable need a certain format to work on a DVD player?

i have an EZ Dub program and the DVD works on my computer but not the DVD player on my TV. i need it to work b/c im making a DVD for my churches 50th anniversary.

  1. Most newer DVD players will play all recordable formats, however not all of them will.  If you use a DVD that is not re-writable you may have better luck.  Try the format DVD-R if you haven't already.  You can look up the specs for your DVD player online and find out what formats it is supposed to be able to play.  As far as the others who are going to get the DVD from you, there is no way to guarantee that it will play in their DVD players as well.

    By the way, I have the same problem with one of my DVD players in my home.  It is an old one I bought in 2000.  It won't play any recordable DVD's or CD's.  But, my new one will play all of them.
