Does a DVI cable support full HD resolution (1080p)?

  1. Sure!  I'm doing that myself (actually through a DVI-to-HD15 adapter because my HDTV doesn't have a DVI jack).

    It should work for you too, as long as your video/graphics card/chipset can do it.  Is 1080x1920 resolution at 60Hz vertical refresh an available choice in your display settings?  Does it support HDCP (digital rights management for HD)?

    I'm actually getting 1080i not 1080p, because I don't have a Blu-Ray drive, just an ATSC (DTV/HDTV) tuner, in my PC.  However, the specs for my graphics card (Diamond Stealth ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro) do include 1080x1920x60Hz and support HDCP over the DVI connector, so when I someday add a Blu-Ray drive to my PC, I will get 1080p.
