  1. I just checked to homepage of the Danish Immigration Office and could not find the term "resident visa" on there.

    http://www.nyidanmark.dk/en-us/frontpage...

Some keypoints of the Schengen Agreement are:

    • Any third-country national who has been granted a visa with no territorial restrictions (visitor's or business visa allowing the holder to stay up to 90 days per six-month period, transit or airport visa) by a country fully implementing the Schengen acquis (see below) may enter any other fully implementing country for the same purpose and also without checks for the duration of the visa's validity.

    • Any third-country national with a residence permit valid in one fully implementing country may travel on a valid passport, without requiring a visa, for up to 90 days per six-month period to any other fully implementing country.

I therefore would advice to obtain the information from the Danish authorities, whether your "resident visa" constitutes the same rights as a residence permit, issued by a Schengen country.

  2. When I studied abroad in Denmark, I had a resident visa and I had no problems traveling around countries that took part in the Schengen agreement.

Although I had heard that some students from Russia and China had some problems though.

My advice would be to ask at your local kommune or at your embassy.
