Does a Filipino-Indian baby born in Philippines acquires citizenship in India?

I'm a filipina having an indian husband.i will soon give birth to a baby here in Philippines.If ever my child chooses to stay in India what are the requirements needed?

    Since the father is an Indian, your child and up till your 4Th generation can acquire Indian citizenship if they wish to.Contact Indian Embassy or visit their website. It will give u all the information.


  2. Your child cannot be Indian Citizen by birth, your husband has to seek and acquire it after much lengthy official procedures, by proof of several documents and records.

  3. You child by virtue your Indian Citizen husband has right to have Indian citizenship even though he/she is born outside India,so don't worry about the Indian citizenship of this child.

  4. Your child will hold dual citizenship.. all you need to do is report birth to both Philippines authority and the Indian embassy.
