Question:

Does a Flat-Screen TV have a glare?

We moved into a place with a lot of big windows, and the only place for the TV is right across from one. If we mount a flat-screen on that wall, will it have a really bad glare? I don't want to have to block out all the light in the room everytime I want to watch TV.

  1. All televisions have glare. If you stick with a flat panel that has a better viewing angle this will help with light.

  2. Yes and no...ALL tvs will have some kind of glare, but some will handle it better than others. Plasmas will get a HUGE amount of glare, being that they have a glass pane on the screen, so definately the wrong choice. LCD tvs do a lot better with glares, they absorb a lot of it because of the type of screen it has. Also, LCD screens are a lot brighter than plasma screens, which can make viewing in daylight a lot easier than on a plasma.LCD would definately be your better choice in this situation.
