My parents ( Indian nationality ) have a valid US and Canadian Visa .Whilst returning back to India from Vancouver, Canada (( after a one month in US and Canada )), they shall transit via London Heathrow airport.Their connecting flight is in 10 hours time.Do they need a transit visa ?

According to what i read ----- If you stay within 6 months of the valid US / Canada visa and dont stay at the airport for more than 48 hours ...you dont need a transit Visa ......am i right ? Need urgent reply please.

  1. I agree with funty.

An Indian passport holder does NOT need a Visa, if they are just in Transit.

If they wish to go through the passport control section though, then they would require an entry Visa, as they are then classed as entering the country and no longer just "in transit'.

  2. I think they dont require a transit visa,as Indians who have a valid visa to US transiting thro' London dont require it.The answer is in the link you have given "Passengers exempt ...... b.....

I think you are allowed 24 hours.

Best ring up British Airways to make sure,as they book all passengers via London.

  3. You dont need visa as long they stay on airport it self.

if they leave airport to visit london . only then they require vis

otherwise they will be fine .. just to get connecting flight they wont need visa
