I'm going to buy a 2005 Kawasaki Ninja 250. I was wondering if it has a storage compartment at all under the seat or elsewhere. Thank you!! any input welcome, even if in general about the bike. Thanks again!!

  1. Any super bike such as the one you are discribing, have no storage compartments of any kind. These bikes are built mostly for racing.

  2. I have an O5 and there is a little bit of space under the seat, not much, maybe enough for you owner's manual and paperwork, etc. I did get a decent pair of saddlebags for it though for about $70..

Really fun bike, let it warm up good before taking off or it's gonna stall. Sometimes I leave the choke partway open until I've ridden a little ways and it's good and warm. Of course this might have to do with how the idle is set on mine too.

High revving bike, doesn't seem like much till you get to about 8k rpms...suprising how zippy it is for a 250!

Good luck with the bike, have fun!

  3. Yes, most bikes have some type of storage under the seats. The 2008 Ninja has a compartment under the rear seat, so the 2005 probably does as well.

  4. It has a small compartment on the rear back seat, but this is only good  for paper work folded and placed in a small envelope. I would not put any other stuff in there for safety reason.

  5. It may have a storage compartment as tiny as mine, which is totally useless, can't even hold the owner's manual. It has friction fit plug to hold it closed as well.

But it doesn't  have to stay that way.  Here is a man that wanted a bigger storage capacity, and doesn't want a rack mounted BEHIND the rear seat (because of the shift in center of gravity and increased drag.)

So he bought a trunk from JC Whitney and a seat pan, strippeds it down, and made a mount for the trunk directly to the seat pan. Had the seat recovered, wider, softer than before. Left holes in it for the bolts.

Nice pics.  But then he needed More! He was going to carry Clothes. so he mounted a cortech soft trunk on top of the new rear seat trunk mount.

Simple, astounding work!  Maybe the article will help.
