A friend of mine is wanting to go back to Mexico on an airplane and I am wondering does he have to get a passport if he is going to his country of birth? He is not coming back at all. He is leaving from Minneapolis Mn and going to Mexico City. Do you know if he may run into problems? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

  1. Yes, he still need passport to get on international flight whether it is inbound or outbound. Airline won't let him on board unless he proves that he has permit to enter to Mexico. He can apply Mexican Passport at Mexican Consulate or Embassy in US.

  2. Take greyhound to LA and walk back

  3. dumb ***

  4. I'm pretty sure he will need a passport, or only his Carnet Electoral, he needs to check with the Mexico Embassy the number is 202 7281600 , they will tell him how to do it. Good Luck to him.

  5. Actually, it depends upon his situation. If he is here legally and hopes to at some point return, then, yes, he needs a passport showing that he has legally entered the United States and is now leaving.

However, if he is here illegally (and doesn't possess a passport), if he has his birth certificate, or his matricula, he can board the plane with this.  The catch is that the information will be collected and he will be barred from re-entry to the United States.

  6. yes, he will need a passport even if he is a mexican national... when traveling internationally you need a passport or he won't be allowed to board the plane...
