for me yes IT REALLY HURT! i screamed so hard and nearly fainted :(

main thing is to relax (altho i did do this maybe i just have neat v****a) but still it is not nice

the key to getting a papsmear is to try to relax...if youre tense you will feel more discomfort than normal..its not too bad...you will feel pressure and thats about it..

as far as the time..it will seem like its taking forever but its only a few minutes..

It doesn't necessarily hurt, but you do feel some pressure and a bit uncomfortable during it. They have done this many times, and they know the best way to do it, so it won't hurt you. They can last anywhere from 2 to 5 min. The more relaxed you are the quicker it will be over.

Hey there, they don't hurt but a bit uncomfortable, it only take a few seconds.  It is so worth it, as it can save your life.

They don't hurt. they are just very uncomfortable. really. but no pain. just annoying. you feel like sayin "ok, what the h**l is that, your done! pull it out." lol. you'll be fine hun, promise. they only last like 5-10 mins. hardly that.

yeah, your first time they do hurt. When I got mine done I almost fainted, but I don't like hearing about anything inside me. they last about 10 minutes the most. they just use a clamp to go inside your v****a and take a long q tip and swab your inside. Just try to keep relaxed because if you flex or move it hurts more.

Not really. They last usually less than 4 minutes. You'll feel a little pinch as they do it and feel a little uncomfortable because of the position your in but other than that you will be fine. Just close your eyes and say to yourself EVERY woman has to do this.. That'll help you through it some.

No they dont hurt.

pretty much what happens is you spread your legs, they insert a duck like bill looking plastic thing that will open your v****a up so the doctor can see inside your v****a and then they stick this swab in there that looks like a little toothbrush and brush around to collect tissue samples from your v****a and then it is done. about I say not even 5 min.

Then your doctor will stick two to one fingers inside you to feel your ovaries and make sure they are okay and then maybe to a breast exam depending on your age and your then all done!

just breath in and out slowly and stare at the wall and think of other things, if you want you can tell your doctor your nervouse and the whole time he or she will talk to you and it gets your mind off it as your answering the questions. Dont worry you will do fine! and they also put lube on the instrument they are using so no forcing!

it is more like pressure than pain. it will depend on your pain tolerance. everyone is different. don't worry too much.
