Does a Septum piercing go thru the bone?!?

Like when they pierce your septum does it go thru the bone or thru the little bit of skin just under your septum bone?

  1. It goes thru the skin and cartilage. One piece of advice. If you plan on getting it done make sure you get a good piercer and they pierce it straight. Mine was done perfect.


  2. I'm pretty sure that it's only through the cartilage underneath the ending of the bone. It would be pretty hard to stick a needle through a bone, after all :D

  3. i didnt know there was a bone there. but i really doubt they would cause that would be very very painful.

  4. No it doesn't go through bone. Just cartilage. But it does kind of sting a bit when you get it pierced. Made my eyes water and close for awhile. But that's a natural reaction. Same happen when I had my nostril pierced. Just take some Tylenol and you'll be cool.

  5. it goes through the "sweet spot", the lower part inside the nose between the cartilage and the bottom of the nose.  

  6. There isn't actually bone there. There's cartilage and then a small piece of skin between the cartilage and the bottom of the nose. Generally, it's that area that's pierced.
