Does a Slovakian citizen need a transit visa for America, when traveling from Jamaica to the UK?

As there is no direct flight from Jamaica to the UK i wanted to know if a slovak citizen would need a transit visa to stop in America and change flights.

  1. Mix Master,let me ask you,are you  Ja'can with slovakian residence? Because i want to know which planet you're orbitting,secondly are you illegal in Jamaica? And how did you get to Jamaica in the first place,Because if get their by Aero Plane you would know that there are,Flights from Kingston & Montego Bay, three times a week to London Gatwick Airport,with B.A and Virgin Atlantic,these flights are direct to London,and the days these flight operate are on a Monady,Wednesdy and Friday.So you don't have to go to America.Once you arrive in London then it's easy to get to the rest of Europe. ( read these simple words,CHECK BA and VIRGIN website........nuff Respect blo/od......Big up JA...peace am out

    PROTECTION (CBP) TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED BOTH THE US TRANSIT

    WITHOUT VISA (TWOV) AND INTERNATIONAL-TO-INTERNATIONAL (ITI)

    PROGRAMS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

    Those intending to transit the U.S.A. must comply with entry

    requirements. Please make entries applicable to destination

    U.S.A.

    All passengers arriving from any country, except those

    pre-inspected in Canada, must deplane the aircraft and proceed

    directly to either the Federal Inspection Services (FIS) area

    for inspection, or to an CBP-approved (Customs and Border

    Protection) in-transit/progressive clearance lounge. Those

    passengers going to the in-transit/progressive clearance

    lounge will go through a CBP inspection.

    Until further notice, all in-transit passengers and passengers

    on progressive flights will be inspected at the first U.S.

    port of arrival. This supersedes previous in-transit passenger

    processes. These new procedures also require CBP inspection of

    progressive flights (flights clearing passengers at more than

    one port) at the first port.

    Non-compliance with transit requirements will result in fines

    varying between USD 2,000 and USD 3,000 per passenger at

    transit point (detention costs at carrier's expense).

    Fines for incomplete/inaccurately filled out I-94W Forms are

    USD 1,000.- per passenger.

    JAMAICA (JM)

    Passport (valid for period of intended stay) required.

    Visa required. However, a visa can be obtained on arrival for

    touristic purposes only. Fee: USD 20.-.

    Minors: (under 18 years of age):

    1. minors, irrespective of nationality, and  traveling with an

       adult other than a parent or legal guardian must hold a

       notarized letter of consent. Not applicable to:

       -minors traveling unaccompanied; or

       -traveling with one/both parents or legal guardian.

    2. minors travelling with a school group; the school group

       leader must hold a letter of invitation from the host

       organization to be visited in Jamaica, duration of stay

       must be mentioned.

    Visitor must hold:

    - onward or return ticket to country of permanent residence

      (not applicable if passport shows place of birth "Jamaica");

      and

    - other documents required for next destination; and

    - sufficient funds.
