I Have a Juvenile Florida Kingsnake, I put two baby white mice in his tank, I can't really tell is he hungry, or is he just eating everything he can find even though hes full, If a snake eats too much do they puke up all the extra food, jut wanna know if he can take care of that kind of stuff himself.

  1. all snakes have there own way of eating and they consume how ever much they feel they need to. if they start throwing up what they eat they try to feed them something else or go to a pet store and ask.

  2. They eat when they need to, but you should never tank feed your snake. Put it in a seperate enclosure to feed it. Feeding it in the same tank it lives in can make it aggressive towards you.

I feed my corn snake (same size as kingsnake) every four days. When he gets a bit bigger and can take a bigger meal, I'll drop it back to once a week.

  3. they eat when hungry, possibly throw up when agitated while eating.

just make a feeding schedule and stick to it. (shortining the time between each feed as it grows)

and make sure to take out its old skins after shedding because if they get really hungry they may possibly eat them if any scent is on them.

  4. they will only eat the food if they are hungry, however if they are disturbed after eating they could regurgitate thier food

  5. Kingsnakes are very opportunistic feeders.  So, yes, in short they can eat too much.

As for feeding in the enclosure, that's a debate as old as time itself...

I feed all my snakes in their enclosures with the exception of burms and retics...
